I am what I call, a “late-bloomer” in life. Most miles stones happened later in my life than I planned, such as graduating college, getting married, my first kiss. Along with that I have been waiting for things to happen to me and not making them happen. Until now! The tides have turned and I am now taking steps to do the things that I want.
The Girl With Too Many Goals is my accountability project. The intention is to track my goals, the progress, the challenges, the completions, and even the failures. Some of the different goals that I have are; refinishing furniture, learning to roast coffee at home, getting my real estate license, adding healthy habits in my life which will require finding fun ways to get exercise and trying new healthy recipes. Take a look around and follow my progress. Maybe you will be inspired to try something new and set your own goals.
Welcome to my very first goal, starting a blog! I have wanted to write a blog for years. I just never thought I had anything interesting to write about. But, the idea kept returning. I recently had a great discussion with my cousin who inspired me to start what I had put off. She was telling me about a blog that she was so excited to start and all the work that she had put into it. About a month later, she passed away. I was not able to tell her she inspired me before she was gone. This blog is for her and for me, the blog that she can no longer write, and the one that she inspired me to write.
Over the last few years especially, I have been feeling very unfulfilled in life. I have gone to my very mundane, 8-5 office job for three years, feeling like my life is being sucked dry with boredom. The positive side of this job, however, was that it gave me the energy and motivation to start looking at things I enjoy, have wanted to try or experience, and to find fulfillment outside of my 8-5 job. My goal/dream list started to develop and evolve. I started to actually write down things that I wanted to do. And started to prioritize, based on necessity, cost, time.
My goals have varied from emotional/mental health, to career, to art, to health, to relationships, to activities, to financial. I am one of those people that when I come up with an idea I want to do it right away. So as my list of goals gets bigger, I want to get it all done NOW! Like, right now! (this is an exhausting way of doing things).
In February 2022 my sister and I took a weekend trip and rented an Airbnb. We spent the weekend sorting our intentions/goals/desires/dreams for the next year and beyond…. My goals have been broken down into weekly/monthly/random (when I can get to it) yearly goals. I have recipes I tried. Coffee shops I have visited. Parks and places I have explored, mostly in WA state, but not all. Furniture I have refinished. And more in my monthly evaluation posts.
